Interaction and Feedback
There is no relation between light, rhythm and sound. So I made a simulator of a led and ask people what they believe was happening with the volume and notifications depending of what they saw on the screen.
The results where people associate faster and brighter blinking with volume increase and lower and darker blinking with volume decrease.
They also remember a red blinking light as cameras recording and believe phone calls should have an extra insistence in their notification.
